Hm. I've not wrote here in ages, have I? Wow. Huh.
I can officialy say that cat-run is on hiatus, I'm simply not working on it much any more. Sorry, but I just can't get around it it, something's been bothering me too much.
Cat-run is a very complecated world, there are a lot of little details and stories and characters that... well... 3 books just dosen't seem enough. So, I'm thinking of extending it, simply put.
Talking about the first book, since that's the only one I've written. It's about Hayley first coming to cat-run, meeting Fox and everybody, and that's all well. It's also about Hayley wanting to fight against the wolvians because she thinks they're all wimps. It's also about Fox tring to cope with Hayley's religonism. It's also about Fox wanting to explain who Hayley's father is to him. It's also about Hayley meeting the avians. It's also about Mighty and her mother. It's also about Kieth trying to prove himself to Sydney. You get the idea. My story is pretty complex, so perhaps lengthening it out would help a bit, for example, the first book would be about Fox and Hayley trying to understand each other, Hayley runs away, and starts a fight with the avians and stuff. No wovians in sight - yet. I think this would allow for a bit more character development and there would be simpler plots, but in the long run, everything I want to tell would be told (I could also open it from new perspectives, such as Tana, fox's neice).
In particular, something I've wanted to do a bit more about is Fox's backstory. His role in the books is pretty simple, as he's more or less Hayley's mentor/father figure. But one thing I noticed is that he barely gets any character development. He starts off the story as a goofy, carfee fellow, who instantly takes a liking to Hayley, and looks past all her faults, because she's a lot like his last apprentice. I think there are a few things I could change at the start, for example, making him a little less serious about Hayley, and just shrugging her off for most of the book, and stuff like that. Another thing I wanted to implement was a plot involing her mother. In the old books I tired to shrug off his mother (Fox mentioned her occasionally, but I didn't revolve much around her) despite her being one of main reasons he became a cat-run.
Two other things I've been thinking about were involving a more fantasy touch, in particular, bring in back Charlie's angel, (pfft, just noticed that) Twick. The other was to make the characters wear clothes, but this would mostly be a change in the illustrations.
Oh yeah, and The Beta Project? Still goin' baby! Just very slowly, there's a few things I want to change, such as Kiana's motives for going back home, but I don't know how...
